Butterfly populations are a very good indicator of the health of an area's ecosystem !!

Also known as the Mylotes Cattleheart, Arcas Cattleheart,Pink-Checked Cattleheart, and True Cattleheart. 

Experts call the arched-wing cattleheart (Parides arcas) species a “frequent flutterer” as they create a lot of movement.

   As caterpillars, they feed on pipevine, using the plant's acid for defense. 

   Adults drink nectar, as do most butterflies. 
   The pinkish mark on the hind wings reminds some of a cow’s heart.
